Backflow Testing

Backflow testing ensures that water from a sprinkler system does not flow backward into the public water supply. Backflow testing is a professional service that checks your backflow preventer device by assessing its pressure levels.

Backflow testing is required to ensure the safety of your drinking water and to protect the community from water contamination. Backflow occurs when water flows in the opposite direction of its intended path in a plumbing system or pipeline. This can happen when there is a break in a water main or during a fire, and can allow contaminated water to enter the drinking water system.

Frequently Asked Questions

Irrigation & Landscaping Workmanship Warranty Policy

Inland Sprinklers & Landscaping provides professional irrigation installation, repair, and landscaping services throughout Coeur d’Alene and North Idaho. The following outlines our workmanship warranty coverage, exclusions, winterization requirements, and claim procedures.

All warranty coverage is subject to the terms listed below.

What workmanship warranty does Inland Sprinklers & Landscaping provide?

Inland Sprinklers & Landscaping provides a limited workmanship warranty covering defects directly caused by labor performed by our technicians on irrigation and landscaping projects completed and invoiced by our company.

Warranty coverage applies only to original work performed by Inland Sprinklers & Landscaping.

What does the workmanship warranty cover?

The workmanship warranty covers installation defects resulting from improper labor, including:

• Leaking fittings installed by our technicians
• Wiring connections completed during installation
• Improperly installed or seated components
• Labor-related installation errors

All warranty claims require inspection and verification by Inland Sprinklers & Landscaping prior to approval.

What is not covered under the warranty?

The warranty does not cover:

• Manufacturer defects (covered by manufacturer warranties)
• Freeze damage
• Systems not winterized by Inland Sprinklers & Landscaping
• Winterization performed by third parties
• Lack of maintenance
• Electrical surges or power failures
• Municipal water supply issues
• Damage caused by pets, vehicles, equipment, landscaping, or third parties
• Normal wear and tear
• Systems not installed by Inland Sprinklers & Landscaping unless stated in writing

Is freeze damage covered?

No. Freeze damage is not covered under warranty.

To maintain eligibility for workmanship warranty coverage, annual winterization (blowout) must be performed by Inland Sprinklers & Landscaping.

If winterization is not performed, or is performed by another party, freeze-related damage may void warranty coverage.

Winterization is the homeowner’s responsibility.

Is the backflow preventer covered during winterization?

Backflow assemblies are not covered against freeze damage.

Above-ground backflow preventers must be removed and stored in a warm, protected location during winter months to prevent freezing.

Failure to remove and properly protect above-ground backflow devices may result in freeze damage, which is not covered under warranty.

Do sprinkler parts come with a warranty?

Most irrigation components are covered by manufacturer warranties, not by our workmanship warranty. Manufacturer terms vary by brand and product.

We may assist customers in submitting manufacturer warranty claims when applicable.

What voids the warranty?

Warranty coverage may be voided if:

• Work is altered, repaired, or modified by others
• Components are adjusted or tampered with without authorization
• Required maintenance is neglected
• Winterization requirements are not met
• Invoices remain unpaid
• The system is operated outside manufacturer guidelines

How do I submit a warranty claim?

To initiate a warranty claim:

Contact our office within the warranty period

Provide service address and invoice date

Provide a written description of the issue

Allow reasonable access for inspection

All claims must be inspected and verified prior to approval.

Are warranty calls prioritized?

Verified warranty-related calls are prioritized.

Response times may vary during peak irrigation season in Coeur d’Alene and North Idaho. If a service call is determined to be non-warranty related, standard service charges may apply, including after-hours or emergency fees.

Do unpaid balances affect warranty coverage?

Yes. Warranty coverage may be suspended if an account carries an outstanding balance. Coverage resumes once the account is brought current.
